the brands of 2022

In 2022, Material Matters showcased a curated mix of over 40 exhibitors to celebrate the importance of materials and their ability to shape our lives. The selection included global brands, makers, designers, manufacturers, and artists working in materials that ranged from recycled aluminium, clay, wood and glass to orange peel, roots and sugar.

Ragnars is a Swedish company founded in Jönköping in the 1950s. Bought in 1978 by Gustav Ragnar, initially, the main business was manufacturing fittings in wood-based materials as a sub-contractor. The brand Ragnars was born in 2001 when Johan Ragnar presented the new product-series ”Ragnars.Work” developed by Ragnars design-team.

The company also develops products in collaboration with architects and designers. Ragnars’ competence is built upon a genuine and local tradition of craftmanship combined with the latest technological advances.
