the brands of 2022

In 2022, Material Matters showcased a curated mix of over 40 exhibitors to celebrate the importance of materials and their ability to shape our lives. The selection included global brands, makers, designers, manufacturers, and artists working in materials that ranged from recycled aluminium, clay, wood and glass to orange peel, roots and sugar.

Based in London, Rokos creates borosilicate objects that express their personalities by coming to life when they are used.

They can mirror the behaviour of drinkers (13° 60° 104° decanter), take on the behaviour of the contained item (Gauge vase), or give overstaying dinner guests a clue when it is time to go home (≲ 231 MIN candleholder).

Mouth-blown by highly skilled craftsmen who normally build scientific apparatus, Rokos objects sit in the grey area between industry and craft – each made with precision and of exceptional quality.
