In 2022, Material Matters showcased a curated mix of over 40 exhibitors to celebrate the importance of materials and their ability to shape our lives. The selection included global brands, makers, designers, manufacturers, and artists working in materials that ranged from recycled aluminium, clay, wood and glass to orange peel, roots and sugar.

Candice Lau is an award winning master leatherworker and a sculptor. Leather has always been core to her practice and her experience with the craft has attracted commissions from clients including Toast, Bang and Olufsen, Heals, Lacoste and Hermes.
Yet her latest work sees a true transformation of her creative thinking. Leather takes on a whole new role as a tool rather than a finished product, and aids the creation of dynamic sculptural works of art, altogether reinventing her creative practice.
