In 2023, Material Matters will showcase a curated mix of exhibitors to celebrate the importance of materials and their ability to shape our lives. The selection included global brands, makers, designers, manufacturers, and artists working in materials that ranged from recycled aluminium, clay, wood and glass to orange peel, roots and sugar.
The Wicker story

The Wicker Story is the brainchild of PRELAB DESIGN STUDIO–an architecture and design practice based in Hyderabad, India. It was founded in 2018 by architect Priyanka Narula in response to questions around the future of design in India.
The Wicker Story's work involves the translation of complex digital designs into classic Indian craft and material systems. Its products are 100% sustainable and are produced with a zero waste methodology–all celebrating the context of culture, colour, tradition and values in India.
At the fair, it will display the signature 'Tamarind' bench alongside wall art and leaf lights, with colour introduced for the first time. All works are handwoven by a set of artisans hailing from the Old City of Hyderabad.
