The global face of the US timber industry

For more than three decades, AHEC, the American Hardwood Export Council, has championed the performance, sustainability and aesthetic potential of American hardwoods worldwide. As the leading international hardwood trade assosiation for North America, AHEC operates a non-profit programme representing thousands of businesses engaged in the production and export of timber - ranging from small family-run sawmills to major flooring manufacturers.

At Material Matters 2025, AHEC presents three distinctive collections made using underused American hrdwoods: Common Room by Daniel Schofield - a cherry furniture collection designed to embrace wood’s natural character and meet new ways of working; Kontur Series by Anna Maria Øfstedal Eng - a sculptural mirror and cabinet pairing that highlights the striking colour variation of yellow birch; and Around Table by Andu Masebo - a dynamic tablescape crafted from red oak with brown maple semi-stackable stools, forming a cohesive, adaptable family of pieces.
