Handcrafted furniture that champions natural materials

Jacob Marks is a London-based design studio, making bespoke furniture and objects from a range of natural, renewable materials. His pieces aim to push the boundries of craft, whilst also exploring how careful material selection can have a positive, regenerative impact on landscapes.

Featuring at the Fair will be Explorations in Pine Resin, an exhibition collating all of his experiments so far working with pine resin derived products. The show will seek to give a comprehensive insight on the material; showcasing its deep and far reaching history, wide range of previous applications, and how these have been replaced by petroleum based alternatives. Exhibited pieces include a range of products such as handles, lights and mirrors, small scale furniture and lighting designs as well as a recent collaboration with Sanne Visser’s Hair Cycle, in which a sustainable composite material has been developed.
