Oliver Newberry’s modular exploration of Form, Function and Craft

Oliver Newberry is a spatial and product designer with over 15 years of experience across industrial design, retail environments and 3D visual storytelling. Born in Portugal and later based in London, he studied Product Design and Central Saint Martins before setting up an independent studio in Vienna. His approach blends hands-on making with digital tools, combining thoughtful design with practical execution.

At Material Matters 2025, Oliver Newberry will present his first solo collection, Hocker All Sorts - a moduler furniture project featuring 365 unique stools designed in one year. Project HAS is an evolving design experiment that unfolds over the course of one year. At its core is the humble stool, reimagined 365 times through shifts in form, function and material. Each piece is developed using a hybrid approach that combines traditional handcrafts with digital manufacturing and 3D modelling tools.
