Shaping Metal with Air

Zieta Studio explores the possibilities of metal through design, engineering and advanced manufacturing. Founded by Oskar Zięta, the studio developed FiDU (Free Inner Pressure Forming), a process that transforms flat sheets of steel into lightweight, three-dimensional forms using compressed air.

At Material Matters, Zieta Studio will present two expressions of its experimental approach to metal: the Whispers Bench and a set of Lampin lamps. The Whispers Bench is a sculptural steel object created using Zieta Studio’s proprietary FiDU technology. The Lampin lamps were developed from the shape of Oskar Zięta’s early PIN hanger. Together, the two works showcase Zieta Studio’s ongoing exploration of steel, volumetric expansion and the possibilities of combining precision with material spontaneity. The project is realised in collaboration with the Creative Industries Institute, the Polish Cultural Institute in London and On&On Designs.
