EXHIBITORS

Material Matters Copenhagen hosted a small selection of exhibitors, from global manufacturers Hydro exploring post-consumer waste, to handmade works by studios such as Jo Andersson, Abalon, and Utility & Utopia. Together, they brought a blend of experience, experimentation, and integrity, including textiles by Spanish brand Texidors, wood and concrete switches from Kjaer + Loege alongside innovative plastic reuse and 3D printing from The New Raw, Patch Design, and local studio 91-92.

The event also saw the successful debut of Aifunghi, introducing a luxurious take on mycelium-based furniture. On the ground floor, a selection of Ukrainian designers staged Material Resistance featuring work sourced from across their war-torn country, offering testament to creativity and resilience. AHEC Europe capped the exhibition with No.1 Common, an installation celebrating the beauty of natural variation in wood.

Engaging conversations have been a cornerstone of the Material Matters fair since its beginnings, and the inaugural Copenhagen edition continued to build on that legacy. Our curated talks programme brought together designers, makers, thinkers, and material pioneers to explore how innovation, craft, and sustainability intersect in design. In‑depth discussions covered everything from overlooked timber and circular aluminium to the expressive potentials of colour and light.
